Immerse yourself in the magical San Juans at High Camp Hut's Wildflowers and Watercolors Retreat. Set high up in the mountains of Colorado, High Camp Hut is a two-story backcountry hut nestled into 320 acres of privately held land sitting in 2 million acres of San Juan National Forest. The hut sits at 11,000 feet above sea level in the San Juan National Forest, with views of Lizard Head, the Wilsons, and Sheep Mountain. Drive 15 miles from Telluride, CO, and access to the Hut is a short 2.5-mile hike, ski, jog, or bike from Hwy 145.

Led by Karin Teague-the executive director of the Independence Pass Foundation, which is dedicated to taking care of the country’s most magnificent landscape. She is a published nature writer and photographer, writing a weekly article called “In Bloom” for the Aspen Daily News. She is passionate about the mountains of Colorado and the living things that call them home. Her co-leader is Amy Beidleman, who is a published artist, owning a greeting card company since 2010, curating at a local Aspen Gallery and teaching watercolor painting at various art centers in the Aspen Valley. She is an experienced teacher and will bring all the supplies you will need to capture the beauty of High Camp on paper.
