Unrequited Love at MiXX Projects + Atelier

For March Art Walk, MiXX Projects + Atelier presents Against the Grain, a two-artist exhibition featuring Mitch McGee and Adam Young. Both artists, skilled in woodworking, bring a unique approach to their craft.

Inspired by Pop Art aesthetics, McGee creates bold, graphic relief paintings from meticulously hand-cut and layered birch wood, using familiar visual elements to challenge gender roles and stereotypes. In contrast, Young’s folk art-inspired works are painted on Douglas Fir panels, weaving together personal mythology, spirituality, and nature through intricate storytelling.
