“At age 6, Sol moved to Colorado, where he promptly bluffed his way onto the Telluride Bluegrass main stage. He picked up the mandolin around that time and fell in love with the high lonesome sound of bluegrass. His drive to play was fierce, but his impatience with lessons meant a long slog to improvement. After over a decade of campfire jams, local picks, and tree skiing in the Rockies, Sol was ready to hit the gigging world for real and moved to Austin, the live music capital of the world (or at least of Central Texas).
These days, Sol plays a variety of instruments in a variety of bands around Austin and on frequent tours of the Four Corners states.”
The band will be joined by star fiddler Anneke Dean, a Telluride local and member of numerous projects, including the bluegrass group Birds of Play.
