A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR COLLABORATION: SECOND ROUND OF APPLICATION FOR ARTS IN SOCIETY GRANT
We have been invited to submit a full proposal for the Arts in Society grant program.
The funding priority for this grant program is focused on projects that have a strong cross-sector focus and partnerships that bring together arts and non-arts expertise. The panel looks for explicit explanations of the (non-arts) community or social issue that each project/program seeks to address (e.g. school equity, prison reform, gentrification, etc.), as well as the establishment of cross-sector partners. They also look for explanations of how each program will measure success and in what ways the project will use the arts to address this issue. AiS seeks to support projects that are highly collaborative and that involve community to a high degree. Deep community/participant involvement is crucial.
This is a beautiful opportunity for a collaboration of local artists, statistics, engaging new people in our community and creating social awareness in Telluride. We are hoping to work with the San Miguel Resource center, as well as other organizations in the community and artists Favianna Rodriguez (above left) and Rose Jaffe (above right).
